*論文に対する質問 [#b8a6d882]
Dear Dr. M***** P*****
Please forgive me for contacting you without previous notice. My name is T***** O** and I am a researcher at Tohoku University, Japan. I have been studying about the change of droplet diameter corresponding to the operating conditions in membrane emulsion.
The reason why I am writing this email to you is I'd like to ask a question about your paper "Numerical simulation of membrane emulsification: Effect of flow properties in the transition from dripping to jetting".
In your paper, the drop diameter is calculated by equation (14), and surface tension force term includes the drop diameter. In the similar literatures (J. H. Xu et al., J. Membre.Sci., 266(2005) 123, G. D. Luca et al., J. Membre. Sci., 229 (2004) 199, V. Schroder et al., J. Coll. Int. Sci., 202 (1998) 334, L. Sang et al., Microfluid Nanofluid 6 (2009) 621, S. J. Peng and P. A. Williams, IChemE., 76 (1998) 894), the neck diameter or pore diameter is used to calculate surface tension force. Why do you have calculated it using the drop diameter?
Many thanks for your advice on this and look forward to hearing from you.
Regards
T. ***
----
Dear Dr. T***** O**
Thanks for your mail. I also had to think a lot before using the droplet diameter in surface tension force calculation as literature review did not converge to a single method. Most of the literature have concentrated more on dripping region of membrane emulsification, whereas both dripping and jetting phenomena have been studied in my work. In dripping mode pore diameter can be considered for calculating the surface tension, since detachment of droplet takes place near the pore in dripping mode. However in jetting mode the pore diameter cannot be considered as detachment take place sufficient away from the pore region. It is well understood that droplet diameter decreases as the process changes from dripping to jetting mode and also decreases the holding surface tension force. To incorporate the change in proportionality and for handling both the dripping and jetting mode, droplet diameter has been taken for calculation of surface tension force in my work. Neck diameter is not a constant parameter as it decreases with the flow time and it becomes almost zero at the time of detachment of the droplet. Considering these two factors I used the droplet diameter for calculating the surface tension.
I hope I could clear your doubt.
regards

I am a doctoral student at Research Center of SCF in Tohoku University.
From According to REGISTRATION Form, I thought that I have to pay 250 Eur to register for GSC-4&AOC-2. So I calculated 1 Eur = 1.44 USD ( 250 Eur = 360 USD ) at Aug 06 2009 and I send USD 360 from Japanese bank.
Please let me know if I have any mistake.

Dear Sonanki Keshri,
Thanks for your mail.
I am Takumi Ono and the author of the "Volumetric behavior and solution microstructure of methanol-water mixture in sub- and supercritical state via density measurement and MD simulation".
Judging from your setting file (*.mdp), you may use the Gromacs.
Our calculations were conducted using MD code developed by our group.
And the density data measured by our group were adopted to perform NVT-ensembles.
Moreover, molecular models we used were probably different from your
ones.
Therefore, it is difficulet for me to adovice you on your mdp file.
I am very sorry that we could not be of assistance.

The reason why I am writing this email to you is I'd like to ask a question about your paper "Hydrogen bonding and coordination in normal and supercritical water from x-ray inelastic scattering".
I'm interested in the physical properties of high-temperature and high-pressure fluid and measured Compton scattering spectrum of high-temperature and high-pressure alcohol aqueous solution using specially designed high-pressure cell. However, I'm in trouble because I can’t evaluate multiple scattering contributions. In your paper, the multiple scattering contributions were calculated using Monte Carlo simulations. If possible, would you please teach me what kind of software I need?
Many thanks for your advice on this and look forward to hearing from you.

I hope I could clear your doubt.
regards

Dear Ms. Liberty
My name is Takumi Ono.
Sincerely,
Takumi Ono

Dear Jussi,
I am sorry for the delay in my response.
I combined ERKALE and my MD program, then Compton Profiles of water-methanol mixture were calculated.
ERKALE could reproduce tendency of experimental data.
I am rounding up the results.
I couldn't have done it without you.
If I complete the first stage of this work, I will tell about this results!

Dear Dr. Patrick H.-L. Sit
Please forgive me for contacting you without previous notice. My name is Takumi Ono and I am a researcher at Tohoku University, Japan.

Takumi Ono
